Expert Diagnostics and Neuro-Affirming Support for Children and Young People

Description

With over 7 years of experience in the NHS and private practice, I specialize in the assessment and support of neurodivergent children and those with social communication differences. My work within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) allows me to bridge the gap between communication, mental health, and neurodevelopment, ensuring every young person has the environment they need to thrive.

Expert Assessment & Diagnostics
I provide comprehensive clinical evaluations and am certified in the "gold-standard" tools required for neurodevelopmental pathways:

  • Autism Diagnosis (ADOS-2): Expert administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule as part of a formal diagnostic pathway.
  • Specialist Assessments: In-depth evaluation of Speech Sound Disorders, Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), and Selective Mutism.
  • Talking Mats: Certified use of visual frameworks to ensure the child’s voice and preferences are at the center of their care.

A Neuro-Affirming Approach
My practice is driven by the SCERTS Model, focusing on Social Communication and Emotional Regulation through Transactional Support. I believe in changing the environment, not the child.

  • Post-Diagnostic Support: Helping families navigate life after a diagnosis (Autism, ADHD, or DLD) with personalized, strengths-based strategies.
  • Parent & Educator Training: Certified to deliver the Hanen: More Than Words program and bespoke training for schools on creating sensory-friendly, adaptive classrooms.
  • Environmental Advocacy: Equipping the "team around the child" with evidence-based strategies to reduce communication barriers in daily life.

Qualifications & Credentials

  • MSc Speech and Language Therapy – Queen Margaret University.
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome – Sheffield Hallam University.

"I am passionate about creating supportive environments where neurodivergent children don't just 'cope,' but truly flourish. My approach is evidence-based, collaborative, and always client-centered."
