If you are near Brighton and cannot wait years for the NHS, The Autism and ADHD Service runs an in-person clinic in East Sussex with a doctor built into the team. Their core clinicians include a consultant paediatrician alongside clinical psychologists and a speech and language therapist, which is why their assessments are accepted by the NHS and statutory services.

Children from six years old are assessed for autism, ADHD or both, usually within four to six weeks of referral. The team is experienced with complex presentations and with girls who mask, so children who have been overlooked elsewhere get a fair assessment.

You receive a thorough written report, and where medication may help, the clinic can refer on to a psychiatry service for review. Self-referrals are welcome and assessments can be funded through insurers such as Bupa and Healix.
