About the Practice
When a child’s feelings have become too tangled for ordinary talk, art can create a place to begin. Kate Ackroyd Cooke Art Psychotherapy gives Sheffield families a creative therapy route for children and young people who cannot always explain distress through words alone. The work is therapy, not an art class, music lesson or drama club: the creative medium is used to support emotional expression, regulation and repair.
