    Description

    About the Practice
When a child cannot talk directly about family breakdown, bullying or loss, child-led play can let them work safely at their own pace. Brighton and Hove Wellbeing Play Therapy supports Brighton and Hove families with play-based and counselling-style emotional wellbeing support for children who need more than another conversation at the kitchen table. The focus is safer expression, stronger connection and practical understanding for the adults around the child.

    Clinical Expertise
Child-led play therapy, counselling skills, empathy, attunement and containment

Anxiety, low mood, aggression, family breakdown, bullying, loss, learning or physical disabilities and verbal communication difficulty

Suitable where children find verbal communication difficult, including disability-related needs

    Why Work With Us?
Brighton CYP Play Therapy Pathway: Parents can see the therapist role, membership route and safeguarding position before trusting someone with their child’s inner world.

YMCA DownsLink Delivered Route: Play, creative work and counselling-style support help children communicate through action, story, art, movement and relationship when direct questions only make them close down.

Parent and School Connection: The pathway gives children an impartial space outside normal life where difficult experiences can be expressed through play.
